Tampa Bay University – A Tropical College in America

Nestled between palm trees, bright flowers, and sunshine, Tampa Bay University is a great college for students looking to further their education in various business, education, nursing and marketing fields. Students from all 50 states, especially those from the colder areas of the north and northeast, make up half of the population at the college as they come to experience a school year without snow. With the warm weather, beautiful campus and the many sandy beaches close by, this college is very appealing.

Tampa Bay University is comprised of four colleges: the College of Business, the College of Math, Education and Social Sciences, the College of Arts & Letters and the College of Natural and Health Sciences. The more popular majors offered here include marine science, biology, communication, management, criminology, and nursing. Being in Florida with the ocean so close, it’s only fitting that the school offers biology and marine science. To help students excel in their studies, there is free tutoring and a two-semester freshman orientation class. Every student is assigned a Gateways professor to help schedule courses, choosing an advisor and provide other guidance throughout the student’s time in college.

Since the majority of students that attend Tampa Bay University are out-of-state residents, it should not be surprising to hear that about 70% of the alumni live on campus. With a great reputation of having some of the best dorm rooms in the area, many residence halls are rather new. These residences are co-ed and are cable TV and Internet ready. There are several options for student housing, from living arrangements that are more like studio apartments to dormitories. Some students even live at a near-by hotel, with transportation provide to the campus. Tampa Bay has 22 different dining locations for students to get their meals.
